Caturday - Voldacat

This cat poor had cancer so had to have bits of it's faced removed. The people who work at the cat home are worried that people will only adopt this cat due to it's likeness the one who shall not be named. Any way, the Dark Lord has returned.

Creepers

These really swarve pair of creepers are a collaboration between 'Jam home made' and George Cox. The resurgence of creepers is quite fascinating because they were adopted from post ww2 American counter culture such as Rockobillie and Psychobillie into main stream Japanese fashion. It is odd because they are now becoming popular in the west due to trend forecasters continuous observation on the east for influence. What occurs is Americans producing products that are interpretations of a Japanese interpretation of American fashion. It's a weird little circle of influence.

Sean of the Dead

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's first feature length film, its also got Dawn from the Office, Dillan Moran and it's got his co star from Spaced. I would asume that all of my five readers have caught it already. It's on tonight, so you should catch again.

Biodegradable shoes

These are the Oat shoes, they are completely Biodegradable. Shoes seem to be such a consumable product, well trainers never seem to last me long. These aren't the best looking shoes about, but I like the direction.

Comic book movies

There's allot of great comic book movies coming out soon. The majority of the comic book movies tend to be really awful, these all have the potential to be absolute flops too. Here are some trailers which will bound to expand the D.C and Marvel franchises.

Elliot Smith

Pigacat

So cute but kinda mean.

Television - No.2

Bored to death

One of the best comedy shows around has just been commissioned for a third season. HBO's Bored to Death is going to back hopefully for September. The show is about a neurotic novelist turned private detective, his comic book writing best friend and his pot smoking editor. He solves the oddest of cases which he acquires of Craigslist. David Schwatzman plays the leading role, who some may find slightly anoying but I have grown to love.

East bound and down

The most cringworthy show I have ever watched. It features a down and out baseball player who shines arrogance and ignorance. He goes by the name of Kenny Powers. I managed to burn through the first two seasons where you watch him become a gym a teacher in his home town to reclaim his high school love. In the secound season he ends up playing in the Mexican baseball leauge. A heavy amount of boozing and drug use and other debauchery makes this one of the most ridiculous programs that continues to be hillarious.

Groundhog Day

If I had this blog up and running a week earlier I would have wished you all a happy Groundhog day. I found out it's a real holiday, the movie with Bill Muary is pretty good too.

Heritage Research summer look book 2011

Old friends at Heritage Research have managed to produce another amazing collection. Honestly I thought that they could be limited to winter clothes because they do such an amazing job at producing coats. But fortunately, I was wrong. They have an eclectic line that takes inspiration from 1940's navy /army garments and post ww2 American sub culture such as Car clubs and motor cycle gangs. They have produced a crisp look book with the help of John Isaac. You can check out there web site at www.heritageresearch.co.uk and purchase their goods at Oipolloi and end clothing. Here are a couple shots from the book:

I would like to work at Pixar some day.

Velour Atumn/winter 2011

Found the Velour Atumn and winter 2011 look book on Selectism. It looks pretty swish.

Summer Vibes

Saw a summer friend yesterday, he brightened up my day. The weather is getting me down, its the coldest winter on record; not too sure how long they have had acruate accounts of the weather for but it's safe to asume that summer's are getting hotter and winter's are getting colder. Maybe they are right about the global warming thing, I should switch to roll on and recycle my bottles. Any ways, I most likely said this since the first drop of snow; but I can't wait for summer. I need to bring back the Japanese ponochos and Pims. I know this isn't a summer song, but its what was on at the time. Ginned out in fields in rural england and South of France, this was on in the background.

Boxer vs Dalek

Forget about people, arn't dogs just awsome creatures.

Sunshine Cleaning

I just picked Sunshine Cleaning up from Fopp. It's made by the guys who produced Little Miss Sunshine. I watched it in the cinema and found it an enjoyable watch. It's about a mother and daughter team who clean up peoples deaths, as you can expect it starts of very macarbe but has such a sweet ending. Worth watching if you digg new wave american kitchness or Juno.

Interesting short by the Selby - make large.

Distant relatives part 1

First part of the Nas and Damian Marley documentary about the creation of their album.

Quintin Caps

I'm really liking the emergence of new clothing companies that are specializing in just one area of clothing. It kinda reminds me of the free market where companies are forced to specialize in one particular area in order to succeed by focusing on what their best on. The consumer is the one who benefits. Enough economics, I found this company today called Quintin. They produce a deep range of head wear that is affordable and well made.

(500) days of Weezy

Loving (500) days of Weezy - thanks to Jake.

New Pooh

Love the fact that the new Winnie the Pooh movie is going to animated by hand. Dont get me wrong I love Up and Toy Storey 3, but they CGI lacks the warmth that that hand draw animation has. Enjoy:

Make your own muppet

Haven't left the house in awhile, need some friends. Made this guy, just need to find my credit cards and I'll have a fuckin army behind me.

Television - No.1

The Big C

Maybe becuase my weekend hasn't been the best, I've been enjoying the Big C. It has elements of a romcom and feel good vibes. It's about a mother getting Cancer, so as your would expect puts shit in prospective and genral heart strings are pulled.

Episodes

New BBC sitcom about a couple who are succefull british wrighters who try to bring their show over to America. It reminds me of Ricky Gervais and Stephan Merchant's success across the Alantic. It has a great premis but due to the poor leading rolls who are very unlikeable and unfunny it not an enjoyable watch.

I need to go back.

The only stable thing in my life has ended.

Jamie xx + Gil Scott-Heron

Can't wait for Jamie xx's remix of Gil Scott-Heron's latest album to come out on the 22nd of Febuary. Here's a taster and a track I've got on reload at the moment.

Birds in hats by Alice Tams

My good freind Alice Tams Keeps an amazing blog called Birds in hats. Its pretty simple, just great illustrations of birds in hats. Check it out at: http://birdsinhats.blogspot.com/.

One Wolverine of Two Batmen?

Alistair Pett

Loving the work of Midlands artist Alistair Pett.

Streets - Computers and Blues

The last and final streets album is Computers and Blues. Overal it's good, thats becuase it's got some absolute gold and some seriously poor tracks. By no means is it anything on 'Original Pirate' Material at the same time it's no flopp like 'The hardest way to make an easy living'. Any way one of the best tunes is OMG. Here it is:

Supreme 1996

(via BNTL)

This video makes me think two things, firstly Supreme kind of bothers me now and secondly what ever happened to Shortys ( on the shelf). Not going to go down the route of claiming ownership over brand due to consumption prior to it's boom. But I've digged what Supreme have been doing for a long while, but it's a shame how its become some what status symbol worthy to the wrong kinda kids. You know what I mean, those kids who have a wardrobe of Bape there trying to get rid of on eBay. Its come to be a sign of wealth over style. I'm referencing the more logoed up items they have to offer. Nevertheless they make some impressive items. I guess maybe it's me getting older and a general trend towards cleaner cuts, Supreme has the perfect bridge for many, to a more respectable vibe.

Lois Lane

Found this from an awsome tumbler all about Lois Lane: http://fuckyeahlois.tumblr.com/

Nigel Carbourn

Nigel Cabourn has been collecting vintage clothes for over 30 years and has been producing for many. He integrates heritage military and outdoor design with modern day techniques. There are so many brands coming out of the Heritage scene, but he really is a cut above the rest. It's coming to the end of winter so won't be looking to invest in one of these pieces. The prices range from a couple of hundred into the thousands. Here are some peices that really caught my eye.

A photograph from Invetory magazine of Nigel Carbourn in his studio.
